Time To Restart This Blog Again

It has been a while since I have been a part of the blogging world. Since my wife and I decided to quit using Facebook (a habit, I suggest everyone should do), I haven't had a way to keep people updated on what has been going on with the Richardson family.

God has been so faithful to us in these last 3 years. Yes it has been 3 years since we have left the heat of Louisiana to the cold of Alaska. We have seen Him take a church that had been holding on and maintaining to now the beginning stages of new growth.

It hasn't been without its challenges but those challenges were usually misdirected and easily handled when showing the reality of the ways things are.

One thing I have learned is that change is never easy and I already knew that you do not change for change sake, but rather for the sake of meeting needs that are currently being ignored.

We have seen our youth ministry and children's ministry become on purpose rather than the attitude of, "if they come they come." We have seen the 10 or 20 percent rule thrown out the window and have seen 40 and 50 percent of our people involved in some ministry or another. We have replaced a sign that was never intended to be permanent (you know how that goes) to a sign that is both attractive and we are able to tell people about what is going on at FBC.

God has been so amazing. We have seen Him provide not just what we needed to make ends meet but exceed those amounts. We have seen missions giving going higher and higher and have even seen this be a part of it first ever mission trip.

It is just a honor to serve the King of kings and Lord of lords and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for us next.
